Nias Island
Nias Island is located on the western island of Sumatra. The island is inhabited by a majority
ethnic Nias ( Ono Niha ) . This area is an important tourist attraction like surfing (surfing ),
traditional houses , dive , jump stone . Nias is the majority religion in Protestant Christianity.
Nias Island has four districts, Nias Selatan, North Nias , West Nias and Nias Parent.
And it has one city , Gunung Sitoli. Teluk Dalam is the capital of South Nias .
Nias Island has many beautiful natural wealth . Nias Island has a lot of attractions .
One is Sorake Beach and Lagundri Beach located in South Nias , Teluk Dalam.
Sorake and Lagundri beach visited by many tourists for surfing .
Nias Island has many cultures . There is a war dance , dance Maena , Jump stone , etc .
Maena dance is famous dances . Regions song Nias Island was the Tano Niha .
Maena dance is usually often featured in various events , such as a wedding reception or an
honored guest . The tradition of jumping stones or commonly called by the Nias
as fahombo . Skip rocks usually done by the youth . The rock measures have
reached a height of 2m - 3m .
Omo Sebua is the traditional home of Nias Island , North Sumatra . Omo sebua is a house
specially built for the customary village head with large pillars of ironwood
and high roof . Omo sebua specially designed to protect occupants in the event
of an attack rather than tribal warfare in ancient times . Access to the house
is just a small staircase fitted the trapdoor . Forms very steep roofs can
reach 16 meters high . Besides being used to take cover from enemy attack ,
also known omo sebua resistant to earthquake shaking .
